Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the weight of ram and achieve better working accuracy and higher durability of the device by providing the function of transferring the air pressure supplied as the air pressure ram descending to the control valve which supplies ram-ascending air pressure to the ram elevating cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: When the work is placed on a lower die 26 and the operating shaft 18 of a valve control mechanism 16 is lowered, the valve body 14 of a control valve 12 ascends and the ports P3 and P4 communicate until the port P1 closes. Then, the compressed air on the upper side 4a of a ram elevating cylinder 4 flows out to a vent 8 and the ram 3 starts descending by gravity. The flowed-out compressed air reverse-flows to the port P3 of the control valve 12, and is transferred from the port P4 via the port P5 of a change-over valve 27 toward the lower side 4b of the cylinder 4, thus acting downward upon the ram 3. Hence, the ram 3 descends by gravity and at the same time it is accelerated by the air pressure acting downward, causing the work on a lower die 26 to be hammered by an upper die 25.
