Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the fineness of the surface of roughly manufactured metal tooth crown by a rapid polishing and molding method in which an electrolytic action is caused by using an neutral salt electrolyte between a metal crown as anode molded by casting and a metal cathode and concurrently a polishing action by an abrasive is performed.
CONSTITUTION: The metal crown 1 roughly molded by casting, as anode, is supported by the holder 2, and the shaft 3 to support the abrasive 4 is used as metal cathode. Both the electrodes are arranged in the tank 10 and the neutral salt electrolyte 9, e.g., NaNO3, etc., is jetted from the nozzles 5 for electrolysis. In this case, when applying the electrolyte 9 onto the metal cover 1 while rotating the abrasive 4, both electrolytic elution and anodic oxidation take place on the surface of the metal cover 1, and then when the surface is polished by the abrasive 4, oxides are removed and convexities alone are exposed, and thus electrolytic action on the convexities is accelerated by focussing the electrolytic current on the convexities to cause a mirror polishing to take place.
