Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent corrosion of the structural materials of a boiler and discharge of acidic soot due to conversion of SO2 into SO3 as well as to prevent formation of red rust by removing burned ashes, etc., by washing with water, deposited on the surface of the boiler which surface is in contact with combustion gas, followed by sprinkling an aq. soln. of Ca, Mg and Si cpds.
CONSTITUTION: A deposit based on burned ashes deposited on the surface of a boiler, etc. which surface is in contact with combustion gas is washed with water and removed. The surface is then sprinkled with water contg. at least one of Ca, Mg and Si cpds. such as calcium hydroxide to carry out washing while preventing formation of rust after the washing.
