Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve adhesivity between a film and a metal, by treating a metallic surface with a specific acidic liquid, followed by washing the surface with water and by applying a coating-type surface treatment to the metallic surface. CONSTITUTION:(A) An acidic solution (a surface treatment) is applied by spraying, etc. to a metallic surface, which is washed with water, coated with a coating- type surface treatment, and dried to form a surface treating film, which is coated with a given under and a top coats. (A) The surface treatment consists of (a) preferably 0.13-3 wt.% based on (A) of a phosphoric acid ion in the form of phosphoric acid or sodinm phosphate (b) preferably 0.01-0.2 wt.% based on A of a fluorine ion in the form of sodium fluoride, etc., (c) preferably 0.001-0.3 wt.% based on A of a transition metallic ion in the form of a carbonate of a transition metal, etc., and, if necessary, (d) a nitric acid ion. The pH of the acidic solution is preferably 1.0-6.0.
