Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the quality of paint film by a painting method in which the surface of a metal, previously subjected to a formation treatment, e.g., a phosphoric acid treatment, etc., is wetted with an acid or basic solution and then brushed to remove weakly bonded crystals on the formed film, and then painting is applied. CONSTITUTION:When the surface 1 of a metal is subjected to a formation treatment with phosphoric acid, weakly bonded crystals 3 are formed on strongly bonded crystals 2 as the formed film. The metal surface is wet with an acid solution in case where a cation type electrodeposition paint is used, or with a basic solution in case where an anion type electrodeposition paint is used, and then treated by a rotary brush, whereby weakly bonded crystals 3 are brushed down and white spots on the formed film are removed. Then, the metal net is washed with water and coated with an electrodeposition paint. Thus, the water resistance and corrosion resistance of the paint film obtained can be greatly raised.
