Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the injection rate of ink for recording information on recording media to be arbitrarily controlled by installing a deceleration control mechanism by electric signals on the inside surface near opening. CONSTITUTION:A high voltage is normally applied to a bias high voltage electrode 11. When an input control signal is applied to the acceleration control electrode 15 having the water-repellent covering 16 of a water-repellent opening member 14, a charge is induced on the liquid form ink 17 surface by the vector field of the peripheral edge field acting upon the inside of the opening and a bias high voltage field 13 and the Coulomb force thereof causes the ink 18 to rise in the opening and protrude. Next, when a stop signal voltage is applied to the deceleration control electrode 20 of a hydrophilic opening member 19, an opposite charge 26 is induced on the surface of the ink 17 near the electrode 20. The insulation covering 27 covering the electrode 20 is thin and the large electrostatic attraction acting at a right angle upon the side face of the opening inside acts like a friction resistance. This causes the ink to separate to 17, 17' and fly toward the recording medium 12 on the electrode 11.
