Abstract
PURPOSE: The title composition suitable for members of cars, mechanical tools, and electrical appliances, having improved impact strength, and well-balanced properties of a thermal deformation temperature, tapping strength, warpage, etc., obtained by blending a compound having a specific solubility parameter with an aromatic polyester.
CONSTITUTION: A) 100 parts by wt. of an aromatic polyester (preferably polytetramethylene terephthalate having reduced viscosity not less than 0.70, preferably not less than 0.90 is blended with B) 0.5W25 parts by wt., preferably 5W10 parts by wt. of one or more compounds (e.g., methylorthobenzoyl benzoate, etc.) having a solubility parameter of 9W11 and a molecular weight not more than 1000 by a melt blender. Properties, e.g., impact resistance, etc., can be improved further by blending the ingredient B) with 5W150 parts by wt. of a non-fibrous inorganic filler (e.g., talc, etc.) and/or 5W100 parts by wt. of glass-fiber reinforcement.
