Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the titled styrene resin compsn., by blending a hexabromocycolododecane flame retarder, an organotin compd. and an org. phosphorus compd. together.
CONSTITUTION: 0.5W20pts.wt. Hexabromocyclododecane flame retarder (A), 0.4W20wt% (based on the amount of the flame retarder A) organotin compd. (B) (e.g. di-n-octyltin maleate polymer) and an org. phosphorus compd. (C) (e.g. isopropylidenediphenol decyl phosphite), are blended with 100pts.wt. styrene resin. As the flame retarder, hexabromocyclododecane alone may be used. Alternatively, a mixture consisting of hexabromocyclododecane and not more than 50% unsaturated compd. contg. double bond and at least one member selected from halogen, phosphorus and nitrogen, may be used.
