Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit formation of irregularities uniformly on the surface of a porcelain molding without causing deterioration of physical strength and characteristics by chemically eroding the surface in contact with a reactive solution and then supersonically washing the surface thus treated in a non-reactive liquid.
CONSTITUTION: A porcelain molding (for instance zirconia porcelain molding) 1 having non-treated surface is immersed in a chemical capable of eroding the porcelain molding by reaction, for instance concentrated fluoric acid, to form an eroded portion 2. Then, the molding is immersed in a non-reactive liquid, for instance water, and also given supersonic vibrations to remove the eroded portion to remove the eroded portion 2, thus obtaining a new surface of the porcelain molding formed by the deepest portion 3 of the eroded portion 2.
