Abstract
PURPOSE: To adjust automatically a shutter speed to perform a good image pickup by detecting the charge quantity of a charge image accumulated by light exposure and utilizing it in ITV, etc.
CONSTITUTION: In case of intermittent image pickup, the suface potential of target 3 of integration-type pickup tube 1 is made zero approximately by initialization, and shutter 7 is closed to give positive potential E to cathode 2. Next, when shutter 7 is opened, the charge of image 11 is accumulated on target 3 according to the light quantity of an object, and the surface potential rises gradually; and when this potential exceeds a prescribed potential determined by the potential of cathode 2, electron beam flows into target 3 to cancel the accumulated charge at the flowing-in point, and signals are outputted from target 3. Then, a shutter closing signal is outputted by the detection of shutter controller 13, and shutter 7 is closed for a prescribed time, and the charge image on target 3 is amplified in 12 and is outputted.
