Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a dehydrating device by combining a dehydrating container with a driving unit in a free-to-take-part arrangement so that a waste, such as a garbage, can be satisfactorily dehydrated and, at the same time, thus dehydrated waste can be easily discharged.

CONSTITUTION: A dehydrator main 1 is composed of an electric motor 2 combined with a bottom wall section 1 c and a bottomed cylindrical dehydrating basket 5 attached onto a square shaft section 3 a in a free-to-put-on-and-off arrangement. A boss section 5 a of the basket 5 is attached to a square shaft section 3 a of a rotor shaft 3. When a moisture-containing garbage is fed into the basket 5 from an inlet 12 a and the electric motor 2 is operated, the basket 5 is centrifugally rotated and the garbage is centrifugally dehydrated allowing the water content to flow out from a draining outlet 1b toward a draining pipe. After completion of dehydration, when the electric motor 2 is stopped and a handle 13 is held upwardly, the basket 5 is suspended allowing the boss section 5 a of the basket 5 to come off from the square shaft section 3 a of the shaft 3. And eventually, the basket 5 is taken out of the dehydrator main 1.
