PURPOSE:To facilitate assembling of highly accurate magnetic heads by assembling a plurality of heads to a holding plate which is provided with holding parts connected by connecting pieces through etching. CONSTITUTION:A plate form member 1 which becomes a holding plate is formed with head holding parts 2 ... connected by connecting pieces 3 thru 6 ... through etching and holes 7 ..., 8 ... for positioning jigs in highly accurate positions. Monolithic heads 10 ... are mounted to the holding parts 2 ... of the gimbal structure which is flexible in the rolling and pitching directions of the heads and is movable in the direction of applying loading head. Loading arms 9 ... which exert load to the heads 10 are spot welded to the holding parts 2 ... . Next, when the heads 10 ..., arms 9 ..., windings 11 ..., 12 ..., etc. are assembled with jigs by making use of the holes 7 ..., 8 ..., then a plurality of the heads may be readily assembled with high accuracy.
