Abstract

PURPOSE: Undrawn polyamide multifilaments, after solidified by cooling and treated with finishing oil, are drawn under specific conditions, then wound up at a high speed, thereby producing extremely fine polyamide filaments of uniform quality in good operability and high productivity.
CONSTITUTION: Melt-spun yarn F, after solidified by cooling and passed through chimney 1, is treated with finishing oil by oiling roll 2 and drawn between first taking-up roll 3 and second taking-up roll 4 at a draw ratio of 1.8 to 3, then wound up at a speed of 1500 m/min or higher. The diameters of rolls 3, 4 are adjusted to 10W25 cm and the length of the yarn contacting with rolls are controlled by therading so as to satisfy the equation: πD/4<L<πD, where D is the diameter of the taking-up roll. As yarns become more fine, slipping reduces and further multidivided winding becomes possible, thus increasing productivity.
