Abstract

PURPOSE: To meter the eddy current loss by metering the temperature rise of a heat medium due to the eddy current loss of a test piece.
CONSTITUTION: The calorimeter is composed of a container 14, which is made of a non-magnetic and inductive material, a heat medium 15 having non-magnetic and inconductive property, and a thermocouple 16 for temperature measurement. The calorimeter, in which a test piece 5 is placed, is left in a magnetic field so that a magnetic field may be applied for a preset time. Since, in this instance, the container 14, the heat medium 15 is a stirrer 16 are made of a non-magnetic and inconductive material, the magnetic field is not disturbed to generate no eddy current loss so that the eddy current loss of the test piece 5 can be accurately obtained.
