Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus for assembling and disassembling rapidly and safely a piston ring having hooks wherein the piston ring of a large diameter and a high tension that cannot be built by human strength into a piston ring groove may be assembled and disassembled by providing a jack stud in a supporting member. CONSTITUTION:A bridge board 13 is provided between expansion sections 5, 6 in rods 1, 2, and the rods 5, 6 are supported by pins 7, 8 so as to rotate freely. A jack stud having carved male screws at both ends thereof passes vertically as a supporting member through the bridge board 13. Thus, the stud 14 is screwed in a piston ring at an end, and is also screwed in a bolt 25 at the other end so as to fix the bridge board 13 and a washer plate 23 to the ring 20. Then, a nut 17 is turned so as to lift one hook section 21 in the ring 20 to over the thickness of the ring 20. Next, nuts 11, 12 are turned at the same time to draw the pins 7, 8 near to a position where the hook sections 21, 26 in the ring 20 engage with each other if the end of the ring 20 falls as it is.
