Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of the detection of obstacles in liquid in case of the exchange of fuel and to make maintenance easy, by unifying and operating a transducer drive portion and a holding pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A transducer drive portion 1 is mounted onto a shielding plug 16 and connected to a guide pipe 7 vertically installed under a surface of the liquid 17 of a cooling material while penetrating the shielding plug 16, and a transducer 3 of a holding pipe 2 in the guide pipe 7 is driven. A reflex body 11 is installed into an inner cylinder 13 at a location opposite to the transducer 3. The drive portion 1 is connected to an operating bar 53, which both ends are supported by a bush 55 and slid, through a chain 52 and drives the transducer 3 through a spring 56, and the motion is absorbed by a bellows 6. A driving gear inserted into the guide pipe 7 when exchanging fuel moves the whole holding pipe 2 up and down by the drive portion 1, scans the whole surface of a top portion of a reactor core constituent 12 and detects the presence or absence of the floating of a control rod.
