Abstract

PURPOSE: To sufficiently recover a solvent from an adsorbent and prevent environmental pollution due to the solvent by desorbing the solvent from the adsorbent with steam; recovering the solvent from condensed water; blowing a water insol. gas into the separated water; and condensing the evaporated solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A gas exhausted from solvent-contg. gas generation source 1 is fed adsorber 3 to allow a solvent in the gas to be adsorbed on an adsorbent such as activated carbon in adsorber 3, and a cleaned gas is released 4. On the other hand, the solvent adsorbed on the adsorbent is desorbed with steam introduced 5, condensed in condenser 6, and separation recovered from water in decanter 7 by means of a difference in specific gravity. The separated water in decanter 7 is shifted to separated water tank 8 and blown with water insol. gas 9 such as air to release the dissolved solvent from the water. The solvent is then returned to condenser 6, condensed again, and recovered. The solvent includes benzene, xylene, trichlene, CCl4, etc.
