Abstract

PURPOSE: Crude coal gas is brought into contact with solid particles to capture the tar fraction and the tar is burnt to heat the coal gas to temperatures suitable for hydrogen sulifide elimination and amonia decomposition to facilitate the efficient purification.
CONSTITUTION: Crude gas 1 is cooled in tar separator 31 and at the same time the tar in crude gas 1 is captured on alumina particles. The alumina particles with tar are sent to burner 32 where the tar is burnt with hot air 8 and the regenerated alumina is turned back to tar separator 31. High-temperature burning gas is expelled through heater 37. Meanwhile crude gas from tar separator 31 is sent through heater 37 into desulfurizer 33 where it is desulfurized by contacting with iron sulfide. Subsequently the crude gas is heated to the temperature suitable for ammonia decomposition while passing through tar burner 32 and sent into ammonia decomposer 35 where ammonia is removed. The purified gas comes out of pipe 6.
