Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the discrimination of the sides of a polarizing element to be adhered to TN field effect type liquid crystal display element by observing a polarizing element with a polarized light.
CONSTITUTION: An adhesive 2, by which a polarizing element 1 is to be adhered to a TN field effect tupe liquid crystal display element LCD, is covered with a parting type film 3. The side of the element 1, to which none of the adhesive 2 is applied, is covered with a protecting film 4. When the film 3 is made of polyester and the film 4 is made of polyolefin, both of them appear transparent and smooth during the working operation with normal illumination so that the both sides cannot be discriminated. During the working operation with polarized illumination, however, the film 3 looks colored but the polyolefin film looks little colored because the polyester film has prominent optical anisotropy. Thus, it is possible topromptly discriminate which side is the film 3 to be peeled.
