Abstract
PURPOSE: To form the display plate of the gold color system in particular by mounting the colored transparent film having the specific transmittance on one or both surfaces of the polarizing plate and combining this with a liquid crystal display device or reflecting plate.
CONSTITUTION: The polarizing plate comprising adsorbing iodine to a polyvinyl- base film followed by orientation is used as a polarizing plate. As the coloring material, the one which satisfies the conditions of (A) the transmittance in the visible region of 420W570nm is 63% or less, (B) the mean transmittance in the region of 570W700nm is 70% or less, (C) the difference between the mean transmittances of the foregoing (B) and (A) is 7% or more, is used. The coloring agents selected among the dyes of more than 20 kinds such as C.I. and Solvent Yellow 119 as (A), Solvent Orange 1 as (B) and Solvent Orange 45 as (C) are used to color the methyl methacrylate, triacetate protection film. This is affixed on both surfaces of the polarizing plate, on which is then affixed an aluminum reflecting plate, whereby the gold-color-system reflecting polarizing plate is obtained.
