Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the reduction in production processes of electrochromic display bodies and the improvement in workability and make the process suitable for higher volume production and lower cost by integrating the flow of processes based on the signal substrate serving both as background and holding of liquid.
CONSTITUTION: The side faces of a liquid holding layer 9 such as porous alumina ceramics are coated by a leakage preventing member 11 except liquid impregnating injection port 10. Next, an EC color forming layer 13 composed of WO3, a taransparent insulation layer 14 of opposite patterns thereof and in succession a transparent conductive film 15 are laminated, whereby a display face 12 is formed. Further, a protecting layer 16 is provided by leaving the lead end parts of the periphery on the electrode 15. On the other hand, a color forming layer 17 of WO3 and back electrode 18 are laminated on the back to provide a counter face 19. The electrode 18 and the lead on the face 12 for the counter part are connected by means of a pin 21 of In. Next, an aqueous sulfuric acid solution of 6N is injected into the layer 9 through the injection port 10, after which the injection port 10 is sealed with a sealing member 22.
