Abstract
PURPOSE:To carry out the discharge processing of a substance of high melting points at high speeds by mixing a halogen compound which is gaseous in the operating conditions in large quantities with a processing liquid before discharge processing. CONSTITUTION:A processing liquid 8 in a processing tank 4 is sucked by means of a pump 12, and being sent to a liquid/gas mixing valve 20 where tetrafluoromethane (a halogen compound) gas fed from a tetrafluoromethane tank 18 is mixed with the processing liquid 8. The mixed liquid is blended well by a line blender 21, being fed to a processing gap through an electrode holder 3 and the inner part of an electrode 2, and being refluxed to a processing tank 4. An object 7 to be processed is subjected to discharge processing in the presence of such mixed liquid. This makes anions generated in the discharge gap disappeared, shortening the time required for the recovery of the insulation of the processing gap, increasing the repeated frequency of processing pulses, and increasing the rate of processing.
