Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the machining speed by feeding under injection a work liquid mixed with insulating magnetic agent particles in a discharge machining liquid so as to apply the magnetic field to the work gap. CONSTITUTION:Insulating magnetic agent particles (e.g., ferrite particles) 7 mixed from a hopper 6 into a work liquid injected to a work gap by a pump 4 are magnetized by means of the magnetic field formed by a coil 8, and absorb the oxygen in the liquid and also machined wastes. The magnetic agent particles 7 with the oxygen and others thus adsorbed flow through the working gap in a condition that they are mixed and diffused uniformly in the work liquid, therefore the particles 7 generate chances for discharge occurrence between an electrode 1 and an object 2 under work, facilitating the discharge occurrence, increasing the discharge repetition frequency, and widening the working gap, thus the elimination effect of machined wastes is improved and arcs and short circuits can be prevented from occurring.
