Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain such discharge working means as is capable of carrying out fine drilling or fine piercing at an exceptionally high speed by performing a discharge working under a state wherein a processing liquid is supplied at high pressure at least 20kg/cm<2> or higher to spout into a working gap. CONSTITUTION:The device works to feed a processing liquid or water to an electrode 1 through a plug 5 and pressurize the processing liquid to flow into a discharge working gap between the electrode 1 and a work 11. Then, a working electrode uses that with a shape ratio L/D (L being the depth of a hole to work, D the diameter) being at least about 5 more or L/D>=10 normally; water well controlled is used so that said electrode will work in stable performance for drilling or piercing a hole of about 1mm.phi or below in diameter. Then, the water is fed into the working gap at high pressure not less than 20kg/cm<2> at least, and an intermittent voltage pulse is supplied while it flows, thereby carrying out the discharge working at an exceptionally high speed.
