PURPOSE:To correct the wave distortion due to line frequency loss performance, by performing line primary equlization with the output of the peak detection circuit, performing secondary line equalization with the output of the in-code interferrence detection circuit, and adding the function zeroing the in-code interferrence to the AGC circuit system. CONSTITUTION:In the atomatic equalizer compensating the wave distortion due to the line frequency loss characteristics, the variable equalizer 1 having the line approximate frequency characteristic gain opposite to the line frequency characteristics in advance is provided, and further, the filter 7 wave-shaping or band limiting and the peak detection circuit 2 detecting the peak value of the output waveform of the filter 7 are provided. The automatic equalizer is constituted with the clock pick up circuit 8 picking up the clock included in the input waveform component, interferrence amount detection circiut 9 detecting the in-code interferrence from the filter 7 with the clock of the circuit 8, peak value change identification circuit 10 judging the change in the output of the circuit 2, memory circuit 11 storing the output of the circut 10, and adder 13 adding the output of the circuit 11 and that of the circuit 2.
