Abstract
PURPOSE:To absorb the amplitude fluctuation of high-speed modulation signals by providing additionally an amplitude equalizer in an AGC circuit, which is constituted by a variable gain amplifier, an smplitude discriminator, a LPF, etc., and applying the output of the equalizer to the amplitude discriminator to reduce the dependence of a detection output upon data patterns. CONSTITUTION:Amplitude equalizer EQL is privided in the input side of amplitude discriminator DET in an AGC circuit which is constituted by variable gain amplifier GCA, where input signal Vsi is inputted, amplitude discriminator DET and LPF LF. Then, the level of input signal Vsi is arranged, and simultaneously, harmonic components of input signal Vsi are emphasized to make a pulse narrow. Then, peak shift is reduced, and the dependence of detection output Vd of amplitude discriminator DET upon data patterns is reduced. As a result, the time constant of LPF LF is made small to absorb the amplitude fluctuation of high-speed modulation signals. Equivalent effects can be obtained if amplitude equalizer EQL' is provided in the output signal bus for output signals.
