Abstract

PURPOSE:To absorb the amplitude fluctuation dependent upon the irregularity of head efficiency and the unevenness of a medium by using an amplitude discriminator independent of data patterns to reduce the time constant of a LPF and make a high-speed response possible and rducing the drop of control signals even in case of no input signal. CONSTITUTION:Variable gain amplifier GAC where input signal Vsi is inputted and amplitude equalizer EQL where the output of this amplifier GAC is inputted are provided, and the output of this equalizer EQL is connected to output terminal Vso and rectifier circuit REC. Further, this output is connected to a circuit which constitutes an amplitude discrimination filter DET LF independent of data patterns, and this circuit is provided with selector switches SW1 and SW2, which control the charge and the discgarge of capacitor C, and amplitude comparators CMP1 nd CMP2, and the output of this circuit is applied to amplifier GCA. Then, the time constant of LPF LF is reduced to make a high-speed response possible and absorb amplitude fluctuation.
