Abstract
PURPOSE: To accelerate the mixing of fuel with air, by making the direction of the mixture in a mixture guide groove opposite to that of the whirl of the mixture to cause great turbulene in the air in a cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: A feed valve 11 attached to the cylinder head 1 is seated on a fitted-in valve seat ring 12 to regulate the flow of the mixture through a mixture passage inlet port 17, a mixture passage 16 and a mixture passage annular part 15. The valve seat ring 12 is sunk at a predetermined distance from the fire contact surface of the cylinder head 1 to make a step part. The step part is obliquely cut off from the end of the valve seat ring 12, thereby making the mixture guide groove 100 of low depth. The direction of the mixture in the groove is opposite to that of the ordinary mixture swirl. Thereby, the mixing of fuel with air is accelerated, the combustion velocity is raised and the combustion performance in the cylinder is improved.
