Abstract

PURPOSE: An adhesive is applied by centrifugal forces to ensure the uniform sealing of the one end of hollow fibers, thereby producing bundles of hollow fiber with large film areas useful as industrial modules.
CONSTITUTION: The one end of hollow fibers is placed into a potting case and an adhesive is soaked into the hollow parts by supplying the adhesive under the action of centrifugal forces then, while the adhesive has sufficient fluidity, a non-hardening liquid with a lower density than the adhesive is supplied to the upper surface of the soaked adhesive to push down the adhesive and soak up the adhesive into more upper part of hollow fibers. The application of the centrifuge is continued so that the surface of the adhesive soaking into the hollow parts keeps high level than that of the outside adhesive and the adhesive is cured. After complete curing, the centrifuge is removed and the non-hardening liquid is expelled from the potting case.
