Abstract

PURPOSE: To largely reduce infrared rays without lowering visible light emitting efficiency of an incandescent lamp by coating titanium oxide fine powder of particle diameter of 10mμ or less on the surface of glass bulb of 100 to 200mμ thick.
CONSTITUTION: Titanium oxide fine powder of 5 to 10mμ in particle diameter is coated on the inside surface of tansparent PS type glass bulb in thin film of 140mμ thick as permeable infrared ray reflecting film 2. Approx. 30% of infrared rays radiated from a filament 5 are reflected on the infrared ray reflecting film to return toward the filament 5. The infrared rays thus returned are partly absorbed at the filament 5 to save the input, and partly reflected externally of the bulb 1 while reflecting repeatedly at the film 2, and further partly absorbed to the bulb 1 to be lost by means of convection. On the other hand, visible lights are mostly transmitted through the film 2 to be thus radiated externally.
