Abstract

PURPOSE:A safety valve controlling circuit which realized high responsive flame detection with a simple circuit configuration by controlling combustion utilizing the electric characteristic of flame (rectifying property) and confirming the existence of burner flame. CONSTITUTION:When alternating voltage is applied to the input power source terminals 1-1' and there is flame between burner electrodes 3, the alternating voltage applied to these ends is rectified by the rectifying effect of the flame and this flame current is charged to a condenser 5 through a resistor 6. The charging time of this condenser 5 is determined by the flame impedance between the burner electrodes 3 and the resistance of a resistor 4, and the discharging time is determined by the resistance of resistor 6. Then, if the voltage between the gate and drain of a P- channel MOS-type FET 7 rises and the FET 7 is switched on, the electromagnetic valve 8 connected in the load circuit of the FET is switched on, and so the LET 9 connected in series with the electromagnetic valve 8 is switched on showing that flame is detected.
