Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the damages, etc. of bolt screw hole portions, by reducing thermal stress in the case when flowing cooling steam, in a casing for a steam turbine that cools clamping bolts by flowing cooling steam into the holes of inserting the clamping bolts of connecting flanges.
CONSTITUTION: A casing of a steam turbine is unified by clamping the connecting flanges 1a, 2a of upper and lower both casings 1, 2 by means of clamping bolts 3.... In this case, a groove 9 is mounted to portions near an inwall of the casing of the joined surface of said flange 2a along the longitudinal direction of the flange 2a while installing ports 10 communicated with said groove 9 along the axial direction of a bolt screw hole 8 at aunit of three ports to one screw hole 8. Steam with temp and pressure higher than bolt cooling steam is introducled from a steam feed port 11, and discharged through a port 12, the groove 9, each port 10 and a port 14.
