Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a heat stress and a crack occurring on the body of a turbine nozzle by splitting the nozzle into a few sections in the direction of a chord.
CONSTITUTION: The body of a nozzle is split into three sections 8, 9, and 10 in the direction of a chord. Each of the three sections 8, 9, and 10 is connected with the body of the nozzle and has a side wall. As a result, the combination of the three allows the body to deform in the direction of a span and be kept in the form of the nozzle in the direction of the chord. For cooling the nozzle body, hot air inside the front and middle sections of the nozzle body are bled from cooling air outlets 5 opening through the front and middle parts of a compressor, respectively.
