Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the number of steps of a program by putting the address of an instruction, which a microprogram memory should execute, into a register and combining contents of the instruction which been already executed and contents of the instruction which is being executed and setting them to the register.
CONSTITUTION: A function field read out from microprogram memory 1 is supplied to control part 2 through signal line 21; and when the function has been just executed, the value of a NA field on signal line 31 is stored in next address register 3. The value which has been already stored in register 3 is moved to upper four bits of address register 4 through signal line 42. At the same time, the value of a LA field on signal line 41 is stored in lower eight bits of register 4. Contents of register 4 indicate the address of memory 1 where a micro instruction to be executed by control part 2 is stored and are beforehand supplied to memory 1 through signal line 11, and the address of the next executed instruction is determined by values of the LA field which is being executed and the NA field which was executed just before.
