Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the torque of an induction motor of an electric motor vehicle in response to the line voltage variations by simultaneously altering the slip frequency and motor current according to the detecting pattern of the line voltage variation.
CONSTITUTION: A line voltage 1 is applied through a pantagraph 2, filter, variable voltage and frequency (VVVF) inverter 5 to an induction motor 6. When the motor 6 is rotated, its rotating speed is detected by a tachometer generator 8, and is applied to the inverter 5. In addition, the current of the motor 6 is detected by a detector 7, and is applied to a control circuit to operate the motor 6 according to predetermined pattern. The line voltage variations are detected by a detector 9. Thus, the variations of the line voltage are applied to a slip pattern to thereby control the motor under constant torque even if varied at the input voltage.
