Abstract
PURPOSE:To control the speed of an induction motor with simple means by controlling the bidirectional conduction of two bidirectional thyristors at its driving time and controlling unidirectinal conduction of one bidirectional thyristor at the braking time. CONSTITUTION:A common coil wire of 3-phase induction motor 1 made of 2- phase coils and respective phase coils are connected through bidirectional thyristors 2 to 3-phase power source 7, and the thyristors 2 are controlled by fire controlling circuits by comparing the output of a small generator 8 mounted on the rotational shalt of the motor 7 with the output of a speed setting generator 6. Two bidirectional thyristors 2 are bidirectionally controlled for their conduction at the driving time, one bidirectional thyristor 2 is interrupted at the braking time, and the other bidirectional thyristor 2 is conducted in one direction by the brake or control signal from the fire controlling circuit.
