Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture the sintered parts (bearing metal, etc) with high compressive strength even if the quantity of copper coat is extremely little, at comparatively low sintering temperature, by contacting the iron powder with the solution of copper salt including the organic acid, for the purpose of coating evey particle of iron powder with Cu, and then, by washing, applying the anticorrosive treatment, and drying.
CONSTITUTION: The Fe powder (the apparent density 2.4W2.8g/cc, the total Fe> 98%, the matter insoluble in acid<1%, the particle distribution 80 mesh under) is contacted with the solution of Cu salt (CuSO4 for instance) including such organic acid as acetic acid. The concentration of acetic acid is taken as 0.5W5ml per one liter of Cu salt solution, and the concentration of CuSO4 is preferably taken as 80W 150g/l of Cu concentration. The Fe powder every signle particle is coated with Cu, is washed with water, is applied with anticorrosive treatment according to the well-known method, and is dried at about 60W130°C. According to this method, the titled parts stably provided with the compressive strength higher than 15kg/mm2 can be manufactured at the sintering temperature 700W750°C.
