Abstract
PURPOSE: In vacuum or innert gas brazing, a base material is provided with improved wettability and sound brazed zone by coating metal or alloy powder onto bonding zone of base material.
CONSTITUTION: Bonding zone of base metal is coated with powder of metal such as Cu, Ni, Co and alloys thereof, and then heated for brazing with silver solder in vacuum or inert gas. The process provides preferential flowing of brazing material over the powder coated area and results in bonding area of minimum nesessity. Further, solder spreads fast and heating tinme is shortened to thereby improve workability.
