Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the ride feeling of a vehicle by displacing the position for mounting a buffer post at a drive wheel hub supporting member backwardly from the axle center in the moving direction to thereby reduce the bending moment of the post due to the drive torque. CONSTITUTION:In the structure of a strutted suspension which consists of a vehicle body 1, a wheel 2, a wheel hub supporting member 3, a wheel drive shaft 4, a buffer post 5, a buffer post outer cylinder 6, a piston rod 7, a coil spring 8, a mount rubber 9, a lower arm 10, and a radial rod 11, etc. for a drive wheel, the position for mounting the buffer post 5 at the drive wheel hub supporting member 3 is dis- placed backwardly from the center of an axle 4 in the moving direction A. This displaced distance of the position for mounting the lower end of the post 5 is calculated from the bending moment of the post 5 and the load applied to the wheel 2 to be set at the cruising time as a standard excluding the transient state such as accelerating or decelerating time.
