Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent cracks from being generated in the insulation-property oxide film on the surface of a conductive layer by causing a pressure buffering film to adhere to the face under a printed mask when forming the gas discharge panel having the conductive layer which is formd by base metal materials.
CONSTITUTION: Base-metal conductive layer 3 which beocmes an electrode is caused to adhere onto glass substrate 2 and is covered with insulation-property oxide film 4, and printed mask 1 consisting of mesh 11 which has a prescribed part wrapped in emulsion 12 is put on this film 4. Next, though pressure 5 is applied to mask 1 to cause mask 1 and oxide film 4 to adhere to each other, pressure buffering film 6 consisting of approximately 100μm-thickness synthetic paper is beforehand interposed between mask 1 and oxide film 4 at this time. Thus, cracks are prevented from being generated in insulating film 4 on the surface of conductive layer 3, and the irregularity of discharge characteristic does not occur to make the panel quality good.
