Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the welding strength with increased penetration in welding of metal or that of varied types different in the physical nature due to a nitriding or other treatment through a finish welding initially by laser beam with a larger output and then that with a smaller output. CONSTITUTION:In laser welding of the intended metal 4 different in the physical nature, a high output laser beam LB from a laser oscillating section 1 by the laser source 2. The laser beam LB enters a condencer 6 through a dichroic mirror 5 and irradiated to a metal 4. As shown by the drawing, a deep penetration is caused on the metal.
