Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a normal relaxation oscillation and make an oscillation period fixed even if the voltage of the DC power source is fluctuated in a LED driving circiut. CONSTITUTION:Capacitor C is connected to DC power source Vc through constant current circuit CI, and swithing element S which is conductive in parallel to this capacitor C at a prescribed charging potential, LED D and resistance RI are connected in series, thereby constituting a LED driving circuit. Here, constant current circuit CI utilizes that the collector current of the transistor is determined by the voltage between the emitter and the base, and for example, even if the voltage of DC power source Vc rises to increase the base potential of transistor TR and the collector current will be increased, the voltage between the emitter and the base is held fixed by Zener diode ZD, and the collector current becomes fixed. Therefore, by selecting values of resistances R2, R3 and R4, this circuit can be so designed that the current may be constant against the voltage fluctuation of DC power source Vc.
