Abstract

PURPOSE: To send out refrigerant in extremely low temperature which passes through heat exchanger by holding lowest temperature liquid helium in one of the two tanks which is in decompressed condition.
CONSTITUTION: Refrigerant which is ablout 14kg/cm2 of pressure and is temperature about 6K such as helium gas is cooled to about 4.2K which is almost the same with liquid helium 16 in the first cooling tank 8 at the first heat exchanger 8, and then, it is further cooled down to 3K which is about the same with the temperature of liquid helium in the second cooling tank 12 by the second heat exchanger 14. Refrigerant is sent to the second cooling tank 12 from the first cooling tank by flow rate controlling valve 20, and the second cooling tank 12 is constantly kept in decompressed condition by vacuum pump 42. As the result, refrigerant which passes through heat exchangers 10, 14 in each tank is continuously sent out to the object to be cooled as extremely low temperatured refrigerant.
