Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an integrated circuit which is free from any extra component parts by securing the automatic reset of the contents of FF circuit in a fixed direction simultaneously with the power throw-in with no clear terminal provided outside. CONSTITUTION:The power-on reset circuit resets the contents of FF circuit in the state under which the power supply of the monolithic integrated circuit containing FF circuit is turned on. In such reset circuit, power supply VDD and the earth are shared with the integrated circuit, and P-type transistor 1 and resistance 2 are connected between VDD and the earth. The output of resistance 2 is applied to the 1st inverter circuit comprising n- and p-type Tr3, 4 and 5 whose threshold voltage is VTHP and VTHN, and the output of the 1st inverter circuit is applied to the 2nd inverter circuit consisting of Tr6, 7 and 8. In this case, the active voltage is set to VTHP + VTHN + alpha and VTHP + VTHN - alpha for the 1st and 2nd inverter circuits respectively. At the same time, the output of the 2nd inverter circuit is applied to the 3rd inverter circuit comprising resistance 9 plus Tr10 and 11.
