Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure the flat frequency characteristics at all times up to the frequency band which is required to the signal to be delayed, by varying the high-band compensation quantity in accordnce with the fequency band of the delay line. CONSTITUTION:In the variable delay circuit, the control signal generatd through control signal generator circuit 403 is applied to variable capacity diode DV of variable delay line 402 to vary both the delay time and frequency band. High-band compensating variable capacity diode 409 and 410 are connected in parallel and with opposite polarity to each other at the emitter side of emitter earthed amplifier 405 via capacitor 407, and the plus and minus control signals featuring inversed polarities to each other are applied to the other ends of diode 409 and 410 from circuit 403. When the absolute value of the control signal decreases, DV increases with f0 narrowed. At the same time, the capacity of diode 409 and 410 increases to give compensation to the high band. In case the absolute value of the control signal increases, f0 is increased. Accordingly, the high band is not compensated so much.
