Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a tuner, which requires neither a tracking adjustment nor an AFT circuit, operating ordinarily only when normal broadcast waves exist.
CONSTITUTION: With switch SW1 closed, a sweep voltage is generated and with switch SW2 closed at the same time, intermediate frequency oscillator 7 is operated, so that a signal from antenna 1 will be applied to frequency mixer circuits 4 and 8 via high-frequency amplifier circuit 2 whose tuning frequency is controlled by sweep- voltage generating circit 3. In circuit 8, the output of oscillator 7 is mixed with a high-frequency input signal and a sum-frequency beat component generated as the result of it becomes equal invariably to a normal local oscillation frequency which corresponds to the frequency of the high-frequency input signal. Therefore, when the carrier frequency of a signal within the band of an input tuning circuit becomes equal to that of a normal video carrier signal, it agrees with one of frequencies at which a delay-line type oscillator can oscilate and driving delay-line type oscillator 9 by this output circuit causes a mode switching phenomenon, so that the frequency of its oscillation will change from the prior frequency into another frequency close to a new frequency applied discontinuously
