Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of uneven image densities and ground contamination by forming the surface part of the counter electrode with an undulated conductive magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:A flexible magnetic sheet 10 and an undulated electrode layer 9b consiting of wires 11 composed of conductive magnetic material such as Fe, Ni, Co, stainless steel, etc. studded through said sheet are bonded by means of an adhesive agnet 12 on the outside of a base 9a to form a counter electrode 9. Then, the toner 6 having been supplied to the surface of the counter electrode 9 concentrates more at the neighborhood of the wires 11 having been magnetized by magnet and is stored and retained in U-form within the recessed U. When a voltage is applied between a recording stylus 1 and counter electrode 9 from a signal source 8, the toner is charged to a polarity opposite from that of the recording medium 5, and is deposited on the recording medium 5 to form image. And the recording medium 5 is pressed elastically to the ends of the wires 11 and therefore the spacing between the toner 6 in the recessed U and the recording medium 5 is maintained constant and in addition, the toner 6 and the recording medium 5 do not make direct contact and therefore the intended object is achieved.
