Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish automatic removal of dirt clogging the filter by driving a dirt removing mechanism for elimenating the clogging of the filter with opening or closing of a lid on the dirt collecting case of a vacuum cleaner.

CONSTITUTION: In a dirt collecting case 5 of a vacuum cleaner, a porous filter 9 made of a sponge or the like and a corrugated filter 10 made of paper is mounted to a filter frame 11 in such a manner as to be free to remove. When a suction pipe 8 having the tip thereof cut slantly is withdrawn from a suction port 6, a compression plate compresses the dirt. Then, a hook 21 is removed to open the lid so that the compressed dirt is discharged. At this point, an engaging blade 23 springs off a protruted piece 22 and by the momentus, vibration is given to a dirt removing mechanism to beat out the dirt clogging the filter. On the other hand, a sliding shaft 17 is released from a protruded piece 24 and a scraping body 16 turns lowering along the shaft by a force of the spring to scrape off the cirt clogging the filter. Accordingly, the opening or closing the lid for removal of automatically actuates a dirt removing divice to remove the dirt clogging the filter
