Abstract

PURPOSE: To smoothen the steam flow in the strainer by changing the direction of steam flow when it passes a cylindrical strainer from its exterior to interior for reducing the kinetic energy of the steam colliding steam rotation barrier plate and the like.
CONSTITUTION: A strainer body 13a is provided with many steam path holes 20 which permits flow of the steam from its exterior circumference 23 to its interior circumference 24 and then to its interior 21, the direction of said holes 20 being deflected from the radial direction of the cylindrical body to the direction of the steam flow (a) whereby the steam flow at the exterior circumference 23 is smoothened and the kinetic energy of the steam colliding a steam rotation barrier plate 18 is reduced, said holes 20 further forming large downward slant from the exterior circumference 23 to the interior circumference 24 whereby a steam vortex is formed to eliminate unstable pressure fluctuation and need for steam flow adjustment, enabling quick and efficient opening and closing of a valve seat 12
