Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a large output and make signal delay possible through-out a wide band, by constituting the conversion part, which converts magnetic-mechanical signals, by the piezo-electric element which performs the direct conversion from mechanical vibration to electric signals and the reverse conversion. CONSTITUTION:Bias magnetic field generating coil 3 is provided in conversion part 1 of the transmission side of non-crystal alloy thin band 6 where both-edge dumping pad 7 is fitted, and DC magnetic field generating solenoid coil 5 is provided on the way to conversion part 8 of the receiving side. Next, in conversion part 8 of the receiving side, the coil used in conversion part 1 of the transmission side is not used and the following coupling relation to alloy thin band 6 is given. That is, piezo- electric materials such as ZnS and BaTiO3 is caused to adhere directly onto thin band 6 by evaporation, thereby constituting a piezo-electric element, and electrode 9 is fitted to this element. In this constitution, since the ultrasonic wave which is propagated through thin band 6 is not read out as a magnetic wave and is read out as a mechanical distortion, a large output can be obtained, and this equipment can be used for a wide band from a low frequency up to a high frequency.
